Well it’s about time I thought about creating some New Years resolutions and this involves Royal Mail and my mobile phone
If you’ve had the misfortune to attempt to write to me in 2025 and I received your letter 6+ months later (first batch) or 9+ months (second batch) later, then you already know I will no longer be accepting mail from 1 Jan 2026 . If your posting me a prescription/passport/driving licence when a printed copy can not be accepted then I will have to come to some alternative arrangement with you
One organisation was affected by both the 6+ and 9+ month delay and caused them to visit me at home because they had not received a response
Denmark as a country will already be stopping the delivery of mail by the end of 2025
I’ve been told that 3G mobile phones will stop working in the UK towards the end of 2025 and you will need a 5G phone in future. Based on the fact nobody sent me a text because the above postal delays delays, I feel it’s time to ditch both mail and phone
As I won’t have a mobile phone – I can be that person who always tuts at “all the kids” still glued to their phones and are looking around, wondering what the WiFi password is for the building they’re in
You will have to contact me via email in future and to be honest, in 2000 when everyone was worried that computers would stop working because of the millennium bug, I was more bothered that I had managed to “kill” three shredding machines, after having had my old mail scanned and shredded. You can’t fax me either, nobody affected by the above delays attempted to fax me, so I give up on faxing. It’s just going to be email from now on
